Cost of living crisis impacting vast majority of students

      

Ninety-six per cent making spending cutbacks while a quarter say mental health has been impacted

More than nine in 10 students are having to make savings as a result of the cost of living crisis, a survey by the National Union of Students has suggested.

The survey of about 4,500 students, published on 16 November, found that 96 per cent of respondents are making cutbacks, with more than half spending less on food, half heating their homes less regularly, and three-quarters socialising less.
