Trustee monitoring report suggests pension scheme is increasingly healthy

The University and College Union has called for recent cuts to Universities Superannuation Scheme pension benefits to be reversed following the latest monitoring report from the USS Trustee.

The UCU, which will tomorrow conclude its latest round of strike action over reforms to the USS at 67 institutions, claimed that the latest trustee report suggests previous pension benefits could be restored, even if current employer and employee contribution rates were reduced.
