Russell Group university seeking opinions on existing names with links to slavery

The University of Bristol is consulting on whether seven buildings with names linked to the African slave trade should be renamed.

Staff, students and the wider Bristol community are to be asked for their thoughts on prominent buildings such as the Wills Memorial Building, named in honour of Henry Overton Wills III, founder of the university, who imported tobacco picked by enslaved labourers in the 19th century.
