University responds to students’ call for limit on numbers and action on accommodation

The University of Glasgow has said it is “sensitive” to students’ demands to cap the number of new admissions, but has stopped short of committing to a long-term freeze on student numbers.

Earlier this week, the Glasgow Students’ Representative Council called for a student numbers cap at the University of Glasgow, arguing that the almost 40 per cent rise in student numbers over five years is “not sustainable or acceptable”.
