Mental Health Week: ‘Covid has heightened student anxiety’

Report suggests disadvantaged students have been most affected by the pandemic

Students have experienced higher anxiety, stress and loneliness as a result of the uncertainty and disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, a report has suggested.

According to Taso, the Centre for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education, the negative impact of the pandemic is “particularly notable” in specific student groups, including young carers, students from low socioeconomic backgrounds and LGBTQ+ students.
