OfS sets out shake-up for access and participation

   

Risk register will help institutions to highlight biggest challenges for underrepresented students

Universities will be asked to identify the “most serious risks” to giving students equality of opportunity, under proposals from the Office for Students to overhaul institutional access and participation plans.

On 27 September, at a Social Mobility Foundation event in London, OfS director for fair access, John Blake, told delegates that a risk register will be established to help universities identify those students, such as care-experienced students, who need the most support to access higher education and succeed while they study.
