But only a quarter of UCU reballots result in mandate for industrial action

A further 12 UK higher education institutions can now take strike action over either pay and conditions or pension reform, or both disputes, following two industrial action reballots.

The University and College Union (UCU) announced that seven UK higher education institutions had voted to take strike action over reforms to Universities Superannuation Scheme pensions, with an additional nine now mandated to take action on pay and conditions. Four providers secured a mandate in both reballots.
