Assessment of student outcomes in 2024 will target progression and course completion

The Office for Students has revealed how universities will be judged from next year if their courses are deemed to be underperforming.

The higher education regulator said it will look at what proportion of students continue past the first year, complete degrees and progress to further study, professional jobs or “other positive outcomes”. It will also consider the number of students involved when selecting courses and institutions to probe.
