Russell Group students report skipping lab sessions to save on travel costs amid crisis

More than half (60 per cent) of postgraduate research students say the cost of living crisis is causing their academic performance to suffer—a higher share than among students at other study levels.

A report by Russell Group Students’ Unions, representing 24 unions at the research-intensive universities, found that postgraduate research students in England reported the highest level of concern about how the high cost of living had caused their academic performance to suffer.
