University proposes pause in pay deductions in return for marking some work

The University of Edinburgh is offering to pause pay penalties for staff taking part in the University and College Union marking boycott, in exchange for the staff assessing graduating students’ work.

Edinburgh proposed a deal to pause pay deductions of 50 per cent for staff taking part in the boycott—which forms part of the nationwide dispute over pay and conditions—if they agree to mark and assess graduating students’ work.
