Informed commentary on the Gary Lineker affair last week came from Iain Mansfield, former adviser in the Department for Education to Gavin Williamson, and Michelle Donelan—architect of the Free Speech (Higher Education) bill. Now director of research and head of education and science at Policy Exchange, Mansfield took to Twitter, obviously, to set out his position on the row between Lineker and the BBC about the Match of the Day (MOTD) presenter’s right to express his views on government policy.
