Nasa is calling for help to bring the International Space Station down to Earth

By 1979, Nasa’s Skylab had started to fall out of the sky.

The first US space station orbited the Earth for six years, and crewed missions in 1973 and 1974 proved that humans could live and work in space for extended periods of time.
