Amendments “would likely result in racial profiling and persecution of Chinese Americans”, academic group warns
Research organisations have criticised moves by politicians to use proposed legislation designed to bolster the National Science Foundation to also impose restrictions on research links between the United States and China.
The Union of Concerned Scientists, a science advocacy group, said on 20 May that amendments proposed in Congress to the NSF-focused Endless Frontier Act were “an ill-conceived laundry list of anti-China provisions”.
