Recombination of microchips and science components gets congressional approval

A slimmed-down version of the massive science, technology and innovation package designed to help the US fend off competition from China has advanced through Congress.

After more than a year of tense negotiation between the Senate and the House of Representatives, efforts to boost US science and technology finally appear to be close to fruition.
