National Academies call for suite of space missions and a focus on the scientific workforce

The United States should reverse a recent decline in research spending on planetary science and launch a suite of missions across the solar system, according to a report from the country’s National Academies.

Every decade, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine makes recommendations on how US government agencies should support space missions and research efforts in planetary science and astrobiology—the study of life beyond Earth.
