Institutional tracking of inventors from minority backgrounds needs national benchmarks, universities tell patent office
Four associations representing US universities and other research organisations have told the government they are ready and willing to do more to support innovators from under-represented backgrounds, but that federal action would help them.
The Association of American Medical Colleges, Association of American Universities, Association of Public and Land‐grant Universities and Council on Governmental Relations sent joint feedback to a consultation on diversifying innovation opened by the US Patent and Trademark Office on 23 February.
