Funding is needed to scale up diagnosis and care, public health experts say
The United States should devote more funding to tackling the monkeypox outbreak, medical experts have urged, after health secretary Xavier Becerra declared the outbreak a public health emergency.
“New funding is urgently needed to support states, cities and clinics in providing the intensive care required to diagnose and treat patients with monkeypox and prevent cases from spreading,” said Daniel McQuillen, president of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
