Inflation Reduction Act passed by Senate but needs approval of House of Representatives

Science advocates have welcomed the Senate’s passing of the Inflation Reduction Act, a sweeping bill that makes substantial funding allocations to tackling climate change. It also contains measures for improving health coverage and tax reform.

Passed by the Senate on 7 August, the bill is expected to be considered by the House of Representatives this week. If it also passes there, it will then make its way to President Joe Biden’s desk to be signed off.
