AAAS 2023: Funding chief says security measures mean researchers “don’t know where the line is”

US scientists are pulling back from international collaborations due to security concerns, senior figures have warned.

Rebecca Keiser, chief of research security strategy and policy at the National Science Foundation, said the government funding agency hears “a lot of stories about how US researchers are avoiding most international collaborations these days”.
