Long-serving infectious disease expert not retiring and still has “so much passion” for work

Anthony Fauci, the top US infectious disease expert and chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden, has been hailed by colleagues and the president after announcing that he will leave his federal government roles later this year.

His years of government service and advancing the understanding of infectious diseases was widely praised by scientists and politicians in response.
