Biden’s chief scientist promises more ‘historic’ R&D investments

AAAS 2023: Official wants to “renew vibrancy of basic research” and tackle “barely feasible goals”

The most senior scientist in the US, Arati Prabhakar, has promised the government will continue to push for “historic federal investments in American R&D”.

Speaking at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science on 3 March, the head of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy since September promised that the administration of US president Joe Biden would continue to invest in R&D.
