China’s innovation surge shows no sign of abating, with the country’s first research institution gaining a place in the latest global top 100 report compiled by the analytics company Clarivate.
But the country is still significantly behind Japan and the United States on this year’s list of 100 top innovation firms—based on markers such as volume of patents, level of influence on others’ citations and investment in inventions.
