Tory MP defends £25k think tank role

University of Bolton institute “working very hard on complex and important research”, says Andrea Jenkyns

A Conservative MP has defended her £25,000-a-year role leading a University of Bolton think tank that has produced two pieces of work in nearly two years.

Andrea Jenkyns, the MP for Morley and Outwood, has received an annual salary of £25,000 for eight hours of work per week running the Research Institute for Social Mobility and Education (Rise) since July 2019.
