Donelan backs graduation ceremonies this summer

Minister tells student website that universities should consider graduation ceremonies depending on Covid restrictions

Despite not letting students return to campuses until at least mid-May, universities minister Michelle Donelan has said she would “strongly encourage” universities to hold graduation ceremonies this year if Covid-19 guidance allows.

Several universities, including the University of Leicester and the University of Warwick, have postponed summer 2021 graduation ceremonies amid uncertainty over whether large gatherings will be allowed.
