Employers back a pensions plan from UUK, but employees and the USS are not convinced

Sometimes when an announcement about pensions is made, Playbook wonders whether it could get away with digging out one of its old editions about the Universities Superannuation Scheme, changing all the dates and sending it out again—such is the extent to which the arguments in this long-running saga go round and round and round.

Yesterday came the latest exchange between employers and employees as vice-chancellors came out in favour of plans that would make the beleaguered USS less generous but, they say, sustainable.
