What do the post-pandemic finances of universities look like?

At this moment in time, higher education institutions in England are making a painful ‘market adjustment’ following the hit taken to their finances during the Covid-19 crisis. Universities in the devolved administrations have been more protected by government interventions.

We have reported frequently on our website about job losses at universities around the country. In truth, there is more going on than full-time journalists can keep up with: plenty will be going under the radar and not finding its way into the press.
