The House of Commons rose yesterday for the summer—although it may have been difficult to tell, what with remote working and both the prime minister and the leader of the opposition self-isolating. Tomorrow, Boris Johnson will mark two years since arriving in Downing Street by being holed up at Chequers—his dream celebration, perhaps.

As usual, the last day of term saw a flurry of government homework being handed in under the wire—much of it of significant interest to universities.
