Playbook catches up with UCLan vice-chancellor and MillionPlus chair Graham Baldwin
In yesterday’s Playbook, we covered the launch of the Westminster government’s Skills Revolution campaign to promote T-levels. It followed hot on the heels of a letter sent to universities in England last week by Robert Halfon, minister for skills, apprenticeships and higher education, in which he set out his priorities for universities.
Unsurprisingly, given Halfon’s reputation for championing alternatives to traditional higher education during his time as education committee chair, the new(ish) minister is calling on higher education providers to ensure they “meet the skills needs of the economy”.
