Universities Scotland urges in-person teaching as poll shows spike in anxiety among students

Scottish universities have called for immediate clarity from the country’s government on whether in-person teaching will be allowed in September, as a survey revealed that almost three-quarters of students were more anxious as a result of the restrictions.

A poll commissioned by vice-chancellors’ body Universities Scotland and carried out by survey firm YouthSight found that 73 per cent of students felt that the restrictions on in-person teaching in the past year had made them more anxious, while 77 per cent said they made them feel less motivated. Some 74 per cent said they struggled more to engage with their learning online.
