Africa shines while South Africa dims in THE rankings

              

Egypt, Algeria, Ghana and Ethiopia make waves

The latest Times Higher Education world university rankings makes good reading for the African continent, but worrying signs continue for South African universities.

The number of African universities in the top 500 grew to nine, the most ever. Africa also increased its total number of universities by eight. The list includes more than 1,600 universities this year.
