Federal discussion paper proposes university funding model that emphasises entrepreneurship rather than publication impact
Australian universities are set to be pushed to focus on commercialising research, possibly as a condition of funding, under a deal foreshadowed last week by the federal government.
A consultation paper released by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment on 26 February says that a completely new model of research funding is needed, with “mission-driven” research at its heart.
