Universities Australia apologises as it releases results of national sexual harassment and assault survey

Australian university students continue to suffer sexual harassment and sexual assaults at high rates but rarely make formal complaints, a survey backed by Universities Australia has revealed.

In results published on 23 March, the National Student Safety Survey showed that one in six students had been sexually harassed in a university setting since they began their studies, while 1 in 20 reported sexual assaults.
