French institutions get the nod to become European Universities

Minister congratulates 16 higher education institutions selected for EU funding scheme’s 2020 cohort

French politicians have praised their universities for “full success” in being chosen to participate in the creation of 24 super-universities that will operate across Europe through partnerships.

As part of an EU funding scheme, these 24 European Universities will each be made up of several national higher education institutions. A total of 168 universities were chosen from across Europe to make up the European Universities—including 16 from France.
