Three-year experiment to simplify academic appointments by circumventing entrance exam

Universities in France will be able to recruit law and political science professors through a simplified process, as part of a three-year experiment announced by French research minister Frédérique Vidal.

The move comes in the wake of sweeping changes made under the Research Planning Act—known as the LPPR—which became law on 24 December.
