Paris-Saclay University heads winning bid centred on site in Villejuif

A group of universities, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies and hospitals in the southern Paris suburb of Villejuif will receive between €80 million and €100m over the next decade to create an interlinked cancer research and care biocluster.

The French government announced the Paris-Saclay Cancer Cluster (PSCC) as the winner of its first funding competition for such a partnership on 5 December. Villejuif is already the home of the Gustave-Roussy Hospital (pictured), Europe’s largest specialist cancer hospital, which has several research units attached, and will combine medical research with therapeutic facilities.
