More money, more objectives for Inrae

Government looks to boost agricultural research with four-year contract

The French government has published a new framework agreement with the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (Inrae) that sets “objectives, means and performance” while promising greater funding to the organisation.

Announced on 3 March at the 2022 International Agricultural Salon in Paris, the contract will result in an increase of €102 million in Inrae’s budget over the next four years. Of this, €57m will be spent on salaries and recruitment, with the stated aim of strengthening both permanent staff and research teams.
