Research universities call for more market reform and funding

Udice group publishes plea to presidential candidates

A group of 10 French research universities has issued proposals they say will allow French research to remain globally competitive in the face of challenges including climate change, resource scarcity, increasing inequality and threats to national sovereignty.

The Udice collective of research universities published the report on 16 March to engage candidates in the forthcoming presidential election—the first round of which is due to take place on 10 April. It contains 15 proposals across six areas, intended to help universities play a greater role in society, both nationally and at an EU level.
