Projects include work on space-based data centres and dust-like particles
The EU has allocated almost €200m to 49 space-related R&D projects, saying that they will help the bloc to increase its autonomy in space.
Funded through the EU’s Horizon Europe R&D programme, the projects include initiatives aiming to demonstrate that data centres in orbit would be more environmentally friendly than those on the ground, as well as the development of an instrument for analysing dust-like particles that can degrade equipment.
