Research community welcomes UK access to ERC grantee group

But some warn it cannot truly make up for lost European Research Council grants

University groups and scientists have welcomed a membership offer from the European Research Council grantee association to UK researchers cut off from European Union awards they have won.

But although membership of the Association of ERC Grantees will help restore lost prestige and ties broken by grants cancelled due to high-level political fights, some fear its impact will be limited.
