Space Programme Agency will be created out of satellite systems agency

Rodrigo da Costa has taken over as executive director of the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA), which is responsible for running the EU’s Galileo and EGNOS navigation systems.

Da Costa took up his post on 16 October after being elected by the GSA’s administrative board on 15 September. He made an appearance before the European Parliament’s research committee on 12 October, although this was not a formal hearing to approve his role.
