Commission talks tough on national funding for cyber centre

Horizon Europe funding will only match what countries themselves commit, Commission tells Council

The European Commission has told EU member state governments that the amount of funding it will allocate from the EU R&D programme to a planned cybersecurity centre will be matched to the amount governments invest in the centre from their national budgets.

The European Cybersecurity Industrial, Technology and Research Competence Centre, to be based in Bucharest, will coordinate EU computer security R&D.
