Venture investment in European health AI up 22-fold, report says

Growth in investment in healthcare companies using artificial intelligence described as ‘dramatic’

Venture capital investment into European healthcare companies making use of artificial intelligence has skyrocketed in recent years, according to a new report, increasing 22-fold between 2015 and 2019.

Investment hovered at or below the $50 million mark in 2015 and 2016, according to the report by consultancy McKinsey & Company. It rose above $200m in 2017, declined slightly in 2018, but then shot up above $800m in 2019, the report said.
