Esa to explore 11 cutting-edge topics, based on first-ever public call for mission ideas

Human travel to other planets, harvesting solar energy from space and artificially illuminating the moon are among 11 topics that the European Space Agency will explore, following the first public call for ideas about future Esa missions.

Esa announced on 2 December that it will launch 11 “activities” related to the topics over the coming year, having mulled over 200 suggestions from a September 2020 call for ideas from citizens, companies and academia.
