EU supports technology transfer platform for Croatia and Slovenia

Platform will help invest €40 million in research and protection of intellectual property

The EU’s European Investment Fund has teamed up with Slovenia’s national bank SID Banka and the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development to launch a regional platform for investing in technology transfer—the sharing of technology among organisations.

The Central Eastern European Technology Transfer platform will invest at least €40 million in Croatian and Slovenian venture capital funds that in turn will invest in “innovative technological research projects and the protection of the intellectual property of universities and research institutes”, the EIF said on 26 July. The EIF is contributing €20m, and the two national banks €10m each.
