Researchers with required skills are “rare or non-existent”, European Commission reports

The EU’s 10-year initiative to develop quantum technologies is being hampered by a lack of researchers with the required skills, according to a report.

The €1 billion Quantum Technologies Flagship was launched in 2018 and in its first three years has made “significant” progress towards its objectives, the European Commission said in the report, published on 26 January.
