Alternative to traditional list of publications and grants needs more consistency, Science Foundation Ireland told

The introduction of narrative CVs—an alternative to traditional academic CVs in research proposals—by Science Foundation Ireland has caused confusion and debate among scientists, a report has shown.

The report, co-authored by Rochelle Fritch, SFI’s scientific programme manager for research policy, identified “confusion and debate” around how such CVs should be evaluated consistently. It highlighted challenges including “tension between consistency and flexibility” across different funding schemes.
