António Costa says continuous investment is “vital”, as he passes the EU presidency baton

Continuity is king when it comes to national R&D investments, Portuguese prime minister António Costa has told a meeting in Lisbon.

In his 28 June speech to Portugal’s Ciência 2021 meeting, an annual gathering of researchers, Costa (pictured) said that a “long-term commitment is vital for us to enjoy, as a community, the many benefits of investing in science”.
