Finance ministry says universities free to act on students amid warning of course crackdowns

Higher education institutions in the Czech Republic retain full rights over enrollment of students from Russia and Belarus onto courses, the country’s government has insisted.

Its denial that there is a national ban on certain enrollments followed reports that hundreds of students from the two countries studying at Czech institutions might be forced to change degrees to comply with EU sanctions following the invasion of Ukraine.
