Networking and education events for policymakers and scientists show ‘real interest and need’

Researchers and policymakers share an appetite for closer links, according to a recent report on EU-funded science networking and promotion events at parliaments and regional assemblies.

A September report by the Joint Research Centre, the European Commission’s evidence service, found the pilot of its ‘Science meets’ initiative “clearly demonstrated that there is a real interest and need for this kind of programme, especially at regional and local level”.
