Ministers seek more coordinated innovation policies and broader infrastructure access

EU member state governments have adopted stances on an innovation agenda, research infrastructures and ‘knowledge valorisation’—the process of gaining socioeconomic benefits from research results.

After adopting a set of conclusions on the New European Innovation Agenda on 2 December, the Council of the EU said the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine had highlighted “the EU’s need to reassess its approach to investing in innovation”, which it described as a “strategic stimulus”.
